ey guys so im still new, i was searching online and couldnt find an answer
i know we can create our own world maps for our personnal d&d universe but is there like a map of the original world or something like that? for exemple if i want to learn where goliaths are from exactly
I recommend to use Faerun as "default setting". There are lot of areas that can fit to your campaign setting. Need snow? Go north. Need desert? Use Calimshan region.
To expand on what Terhonator said, the main thing to understand is that there isn't a single official D&D world; there's several.
Most of the published adventures and D&D Adventurer's League play take place in Faerun/The Forgotten Realms, so that's a good setting to pick all else being equal. The best resource for the Forgotten Realms right now is Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide.
Tales From the Yawning Portal contains several adventures that take place in Greyhawk and Curse of Strahd takes place in Ravenloft. There's also Eberron, which doesn't have any adventure books for 5th edition but does have a setting guide (Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron) and Ravnica, which is a world from Magic the Gathering that recently got rules for D&D play in Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica. And besides those there are older settings like Dark Sun and Dragonlance which haven't been featured in any official 5th edition books but you can still find books from previous editions for them.
Then there's OD&D... and the map that was used lent itself to the 'sandbox' style of play quite common at the time. That map was from an Avalon Hill game called Outdoor Survival. The D&D blog Bat in the Attic did a a great series on the map, and even made a map available that is 'based on the OD&D books.' http://batintheattic.blogspot.com/2009/11/original-southlands-map.html
However, since so much stuff was made up, back in the day, each DM having full authority to create their own respective multiverse and all that, the origin point of various races is entirely 'campaign specific.'
Hope that helps.

For example I needed pirate themed island and I decided to use Nelanther Isles of Faerun in my own project: http://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/By3s5Uqqf
