There is a section in the multiclassing rules on this. The short answer is that you have the slots of a 3rd level caster (4 x 1st and 2x 2nd). Though you select only first level spells based on the rules in the druid and wizard class.
Spells known/learned. You can take up to 3 levels of a secondary class without preventing yourself from ever learning 9th level spells. Typically you eventually want 9th level spells, they are a game changer. So it is usually a bad idea to take 4 levels of a secondary class if you are a full caster (Cleric, Druid, Wizard, Sorcerer or Bard).
For spell slots, you can add freely all full caster levels. So a 10th Wizard/10th Cleric or a 4 Bard/16 Druid or a 20 Wizard all have the same number of slots. But the 10 Wizard/10 Cleric can only learn 5th level spells (of either class). So they typically do a LOT of upcasting. Most people would rather cast a real 6th, 7th, 8th or 9th level spell.
Which class you take first often controls: Saving Throws and proficiencies, particularly armor proficiencies. It also affects HP as your first level gets max HP, but this tiny amount (10 vs 6 is just a 4 pt difference) matters less. If you are not saving your non-main class for last few levels, often armor proficiency is the thing that makes the choice for you about which to take first. But sometimes Saves matter - remember that Concentration Checks to maintain spells depend on Constition saving throws.
Or you can just ignore all that "I do not want to die" crap and just go with what you feel will be a better roleplaying.
If I multi-class as a level 2 wizard, and level 1 druid.
Would I have my normal spell slots of 3 1st level and 2 2nd level since I have 3 spellcaster levels?
Would I have 5 level 1 slots since a level 2 wizard gets 3 slots and a level 1 druid gets two slots?
Or would I have 4 level 1 spell slots as multiclassing only adds some benefits from the other class?
What exactly would my spell slots be as a level 2 wiz / level 1 druid?
You would have 4 1st level and 2 2nd level slots of a normal level 3 spellcaster. But you can only prepare spells according to the individual class's chart and don't consider the multiclass slots (so you can only prepare level 1 spells).
The multiclass rules have a big section on spellcasters.

I'm a little confused on how it works.

Tricks of multi-classing for casters.
