Question: Can a player character weave in an attack granted by extra attack feature between an attack made by a light weapon and a weapon with nick weapon mastery?
Setup: Race: Thri-Kreen (for argument sake) Level 5 Fighter: - has Two-Weapon fighting style - picked up dual wielder at level 4 Left Secondary arm: Scimitar (Nick) Right Secondary arm: Shortsword (Vex) Main Hand: Quarterstaff (Topple)
Nick Description according to DND Beyond blogpost: The Nick mastery property allows you to make the additional attack you receive from wielding two Light weapons as part of the initial attack action.
Example1: This can be done no argument here Attack Action: shortsword (Vex) -> advantage Scimitar (Nick) -> Quarterstaff (Topple) attack
Example 2: This is what I'm questioning Attack Action: Shortsword (Vex) -> Advantage Quarterstaff (Topple) -> Scimitar (Nick)
I'm leaning towards no but so far nothing seems to categorically reject a yes.
Does it matter? At the moment the answer to the question can lead to either giving the quarterstaff with topple or the scimitar with nick an advantage to attack
I'd need to see the exact wording on TWF and Dual Wielder in the 2024 rules to make a RAW determination, but speaking as a DM, if you're also making an attack with a non-Light weapon like a quarterstaff, that would negate any features or bonuses that "you receive from wielding two Light weapons".
The current Dual Wielder overrides the Light requirement on TWF specifically, but that wouldn't automatically transfer to anything else that requires the use of Light weapons

I'm pretty sure you can make your attacks in any order.
I don't have access to 2024 rules so can't say for certain.
