So I am looking at the Bowl of Commanding Water Elementals right now, and it lets you summon a water elemental as if you had cast Conjure Elemental. I understand that items that let you cast a certain concentration spell probably require concentration, but what about items like this that perform a magical effect as if you had cast a concentration spell? Would items like this require concentration after using to maintain a magical effect that references a concentration spell?

I believe that the wording "as if you had cast..." refers to the fact that conjure elemental requires 1 minute to cast, while with the bowl you can cast the spell with 1 action. I think the spell still requires concentration, as explained in the DMG.
