just trying to see how this works, so nick - When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the Attack action instead of as a Bonus Action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn. so my understanding is a level 4 fighter before getting multi attack at level 5 basically get two attacks using one attack action which frees up there bonus action, but can you then choose to invoke the light property again as a bonus action to make another attack? so basically three attacks using both action and bonus action? or is the purpose of nick just to simply free up the fighters bonus action to be used on something else like say a magic item or class feat that requires a bonus action?
but can you then choose to invoke the light property again as a bonus action to make another attack?
No, because at that point, you've already made that attack. You've made it as part of the Attack action, but you've still made it, so you can't make it again. You can use your Bonus Action to do anything else you want though. That's the point of Nick. You can use Second Wind, for example.
- Before reaching level 5, you'd need the Dual Wielder feat to make three attacks by using the Bonus Action that Nick freed up. - I usually recommend this video about the interaction between the Light weapon property, Dual Wielder feat, Two-Weapon Fighting Style feat, and Nick Weapon Mastery:

i figured as much, thank you for the clarification
@Natrel summarized it well.
Just adding a couple of things:

- I usually recommend this video about the interaction between the Light weapon property, Dual Wielder feat, Two-Weapon Fighting Style feat, and Nick Weapon Mastery:
