I am playing a beastborn barbarian with innate reach and a halberd so 15ft range and just leveled to three for Strength of One and I selected Wild Strength.
Our group has hit a few spots where it just seems too open to interpretation and could use some outside input.
1.Does the strike scale with reach? We all agreed reach should work here.
2. Does it hit friendlies? This we were divided on as it says threatens opponents but then says all creatures in the next line.
3. For the main Strength of One, reach or no? We went no.
Strength Of One: Wild Strength
Class: Path of the Provoked
No enemy is safe when near you. You may sacrifice an attack and transform it into a wild swing that threatens all opponents within 5 feet of you. Any creature within your weapon’s reach must make a Dexterity saving throw against a DC of 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier. If they fail, they take damage as though you hit them with an attack made with the weapon used.
Strength Of One
Class: Path of the Provoked
Starting at 3rd level, while you are raging, your critical hit range increases by 1 for each hostile attacker within 5 feet, to a maximum equal to your proficiency bonus. In addition, you gain one of the following features of your choice. Stoic Strength Wrathful Strength Wild Strength
So that others can reference it, this is a homebrew subclass called Path of the Provoked.
The problem is, Wild Strength is pretty poorly written. It says that it affects all opponents, but then it says all creatures. It says within 5 feet, but then it says within your weapon's reach. The two different sentences simply contradict each other, and neither is more specific than the other. There is no right answer. Just figure it out at your table.
For Strength of One, it's much less ambiguous. It says within 5 feet. That means within 5 feet. It shouldn't be affected by any features that increase your weapon's reach, unless they're very uniquely worded.

Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
