Does Hex have a visual effect? I'm asking because I'd like to use it subtly to mess with folks while using CHA based skills against them so they have disadvantage against me, but it would not be helpful if when I hex someone they get covered in some kind of sparkly negative energy.
The main problem is that it has Vocal, Somatic, and Material Components, so you'll need to make sure whoever you're targeting with it can't see or hear you, since it's really hard to pull off something like that without someone realizing you're casting a spell of some kind.

If it had a visual effect it would say so. Assume it doesn't have one, unless the DM says otherwise.

True 99% of the time. Crown of Madness is the main exception.
