When using a spear in one hand, does it still qualify for the bonus action attack from Polearm mastery? The Character builder specifies taking the attack action with no specifics mentioned so I assume so, but I wanted to ask. Also, the bonus action attack doesn't seem to benefit from a weapon being magic, I.E no attack or damage bonus. Is that correct?
Polearm Master does say you’re making the bonus action attack with the weapon, and +1 weapons say you get the bonus to attack and damage rolls made with the weapon, so I see no reason why the bonus wouldn’t apply.
And to your first question, your observation is correct, there’s nothing in the feat that says you have to use the weapon in two hands.
Hmm...That leads to some new ideas concerning first level feats for variant humans. Being able to use a shield while doing comparable damage to dual-wielding seems a little strong.
The reason the bonus action attack doesn't display it benefits from +X or reach is because the action is added by the feat, not the weapon. The character sheet does not currently have a means of pulling information off the weapon and applying it to the bonus action attack.

Which is to say: the lack of weapon properties and magic bonuses on the attack is a dndbeyond bug, not a 5e rules feature.
Yeah polearm mastery is cool for hoplite spear and shield types. It’s an underused weapon type, good for it to get some love!

I'm going to make this way harder than it needs to be.
