l know that if you have made a clone, when you die your soul goes into the clone (assuming it was not destroyed or traped) but is it any type of death,or only unntautal death? like if l made a clone that l forgot about and died of old age, would l just die,or would my soul go into the clone?
ps l love how the clone spell can let you chose to become a younger version of yourself, cause it lets you fake your death, and lf you were a old person with lots of debt, well now you are a child with all the knowledge and power you gained over the years (magic power, not political or social) and you can just go and do whatever, debt free.
Nothing in the spell says it only works for unnatural deaths - it says if the creature dies. So old age is included.
There's nothing stopping the DM from saying that a god or something decides to stop it from happening because you died of old age - but nothing stops them from saying your soul is trapped if you die any other way too.
Yeah, you get enough clones and a safe enough place to keep them, and enough material components to keep casting it then congratulations, you are functionally immortal.

the clone spell is a big part of my characters plans for immortality! she is a elf,and if home brew is allowed, she plans on becomeing a half dragon (which would double her elven lifespan to be like 1400 years) so yeah, who needs lichdom or a wish spell when you got elven clones with possable half dragonness!?

Clone: ALL of the necromantic immortality with NONE of the gross rotting zombie flesh!
