I haven't found anything about this topic and so I thought I'd ask here.
While reading up on concentration in spellcasting I've noticed I couldn't find any mentions of it in the PHB besides under spell duration. I did remember though that there were more rules connected to it. So I rummaged around and found a big section about concentration in the Basic Rules.
This section does not appear to be featured in the PHB at all. I was kind of under the impression that the PHB would include all the main rules. So my question would be: Are there more rules that are more elaborate in the Basic Rules than in the PHB? (If yes... why?) Or are those rules just not in the digital copy of the PHB ?
What section in the basic rules? Ch 10of the PHB to my first glance looks nearly identical to Ch 11 in the basic rules. Both have a section on concentration only under spell duration.
Remember that there are a few additional rules in the Basic Rules set over the PHB because they also cover some material covered by the DMG, but I don't think any of these regard concentration.

The Basic Rules features elements from PHB, DMG and MM. The PHB is specifically focused on standard play rules and everything the player needs while the DMG features things the DM will need. Parts of both are included in the Basic Rules to cover those basics but PHB has more player options and DMG goes into more detail on DM guidelines, optional and variant rules and such as. The extra info in those books are not necessary for play and are not rules, just extras.
The section on spellcasting is exactly the same in both Basic Rules and the PHB. They're also in the same place and can be easily found within seconds using the menus.
I genuinely don't understand how it is possible for you to find the info in one and not the other, given they're in the same place with the exact same wording.

not on this specific point, but...there's five sets of player rules and they were all updated at different times, I think its pretty easy to find inconsistencies. Sources definitely don't have the exact same wording as the PHB is constantly getting updated with errata, the others aren't.
SRD - free, last updated 2016. PHB - paid, last updated 2020. Basic Rules - free, last updated in 2018. Essentials Kit - free, last updated 2020 Starter Rulebook - free, last updated 2020.
I can't seem to find what i was looking at, but comparing the Essentials Kit to the PHB I did find language in the Essentials Kit that wasn't in the PHB (i think ever - and i'm talking about a PHB-covered concept, not something that'd be in the DMG or MM)...can't seem to remember what it was but still digging.

Given the OP is specifically about the Basic Rules and PHB on here and for a section that has been identical since he beginning,I am not sure what your point is?
Sure there could be inconsistencies for other things. There isn't any for this. The same info, in both sources at same place.
So why mention it if it isn't relevant to the thread?
freedom of speech, whimsy, thought it might help someone somewhere, felt like typing instead of talking to myself, something similar to whatever's driving your 'how dare you respond' response...pick one.

Could you link the 2 sections you are comparing?
At least here on DnDbeyond, concentration seems to be word-for-word the same in PHB and Basic Rules.

Chapter 10 > Spellcasting > Casting a Spell > Duration > Concentration.
It took me 4 seconds to find it. Why did you have difficulty?
Yeah. Again it's: Chapter 10 > Spellcasting > Casting a Spell > Duration > Concentration
It's literally the same place. How can you find it in one but not the other, when it's the same route? Your story seems fishy to me.
Yes it is. Same words, in the same place, in both.
