I'm still new to the game and trying to understand more about how spell durations are affected by spell slots. Some spells say they last up to a minute, 10 minutes, 1 hour, and so on. I understand that using a spell takes up a spell slot related to its spell level or uses a higher level slot to strengthen the spell (depending on the spells ruling). My question is, if you use say call lighting, it lasts up to 10 minutes with concentration. For the next 10 minutes that spell remains active as long as concentration doesn't break. Do you use a spell slot every time you call a strike every round eventhough it's active still for that long? Or does with it lasting 10 minutes mean you can call, in theory, 10 lightning strikes in a minute, since each round is 6 seconds, with only the use of one spell slot?

One slot, one spell, for the full duration.
So, yes, you can call one lightning strike per 6 seconds without expending extra slots.
Thank you for the clarification.
one slot unless you do something to break/loose concentration. Then you might want to cast it again.
I agree also.
