Flame Blade isn't actually a weapon, it's a spell effect that functions like a weapon, though you make spell attacks with it. Contrast with the wording of Shadow Blade, which explicityly does count as a simple melee weapon with the Finesse, Light and Thrown properties, and which you make weapon attack rolls with. Shadow Blade can be used with the Dueling fighting style, by RAW Flame Blade cannot.

Hello all. Just want the world's advice on this something.
If I were to, hypothetically, multi-class a Druid/Ranger and take the Duelling Fighting Style, would that stack with my fave spell Flame Blade?
Thoughts?
Strictly speaking, the spell's effect is not considered a weapon by the rules.
That said it's certainly weapon-like and wouldn't break the game in any way, so if you ask nicely your DM might allow it?
