Ok, so essentially, I've always thought it was strange that sorcerers use charisma. makes PERFECT sense for bard, warlock, and even paladin to an extent. but I never really saw it for Sorcerer? I've always viewed Wisdom as a better option. I specifically say wisdom, as monks also use wisdom for the powers related to the natural sort of "magic" in their bodies, somewhat similar to sorcerer. but would that be too good? like would there logistically be any issue with doing that if I discussed it with my DM?
(hope i didn't word this weird)

It's certainly something you could bring up with your DM! Don't be surprised if they say no, though. At first glance it seems like a relatively simple change, but there are a lot of ways it could have unexpected impacts on things that a DM might not want to deal with.
There's also a school of thought that says Sorcerers' spellcasting ability should be Constitution, given that their magical power is an innate part of them. This is interesting conceptually but would probably have a much greater impact than switching to Wisdom, since it would likely lead to all Sorcerers having a lot of HP and running headlong into smashy fights in ways they typically don't now.

Generally the most debated alternate casting stat for sorcerers is constitution. This is used with the aberrant dragon mark feat in both the older Eberron supplement and the new UA. Though, ngl, I do like the idea of wisdom too, their magic being more instinctive. But the idea of using charisma is that they are using their sheer force of will to use magic thats available to them through their bloodline or other pseudo-physiological or metaphysical change. I can see and make great arguments for Con, Wis, and Cha for the sorcerer casting stat. A lot of people lean away from Con through because it really makes the sorcerer a single stat build, you can reasonably dump dex if you have a high enough Con to sponge damage.
The great thing about the 2024 rules when it comes other this though is its really easy to HB and change, it does nothing to the overall balance of any class or subclass to change the casting stat from any of the mental abilities to another one. I have played a warlock in a a short campaign a couple moths ago that used Int as his casting stat. He was in a wizard academy and decided he didn't want to wait the years it would take to learn magic the old way so he cheated and made a deal to jump the line.
I think you'd see some balancing issues if you change it to the physical abilities, at least for general spellcasting, one off abilities are different.
So all that being said, talk to your DM, balance shouldn't be an issue, it would just be their take on flavor, the world and how much a rules stickler are they.

I don't think it would be, as there are very few synergizing abilities.
