I am looking for a decent name for a big bad I'm trying to make. Any Ideas?
Alright, first I'll need some details. Namely, what race/species are they? Without that information, I can't really help you other than suggesting you make the name sound uncommon and unique.
All stars fade. Some stars forever fall. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Homebrew (Mostly Outdated):Magic Items,Monsters,Spells,Subclasses ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If there was no light, people wouldn't fear the dark.
If you want suggestions, we’ll need a little more: an undead elf king, an orc torturer-lord, and a gold-hungry dragon might have totally different sounding names (like Morgrith the Arisen, Rakhrol Gaoler, and Calisarax Antimonidus, respectively). But in general, villainous sounding names use harsh consonants (like k or hard g) or parts of old or foreign words connoting evil or darkness (“Voldemort” for example means “flight from death”). And you can’t go wrong with using names of obscure folklore villains either!
I direct you to Behind the Name, which has a panoply of names from all kinds of linguistic roots as well as a tool called Name Themes, which will help you find names based on vibes or meanings.
There's also random generators you can use (Seventh Sanctum has a ton, even if the website is clunky).
Finally, DDB has a random name generator in the character builder. Happy browsing!

Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.
