There is a mechanic for disfiguration in the DMG optional rules causing a negative placed on CHA due to a battle injury. I don't have my DMG at hand (and not on DDB). I don't know if there is a similar curse that affects CHA.

Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.
I think the Sea Spawn (from VGtM) is your best option. It says "Krakens, morkoths, sea hags, marids, storm giants, dragon turtles- all of these sea creatures and more can mark mortals as their own and claim them as minions. Such people might become beholden to their master through a bleak bargain, or they might find themselves cursed by such creatures. Once warped into a fishlike form, the person can't leave the sea for long without courting death."
sure, why not? Last month, I had an efreeti pull a character apart, keeping him alive the entire time, then sold what was left into servitude to a demon. You could say he was unhappy with the paladin in question. It fit the story arc pretty well, and yes, the pally will come back with some fairly nasty scars.

There's a character who had dealings with a marid. He was a Ex leader of a city. Can a marid curse a humanoid to make them deformed?
Is this for roleplay? Then, sure. Go nuts.
