Just some fun tidbits of homebrew from my most recent campaign!
Gnomes are given a cow at birth which they keep with them always. The gnome and the cow bathe together, eat together, sleep together, and even go to school together.
Gnomish wedding traditions dictates that a couple must wash each other's feet with fresh milk from the other's cow, slaughter their cows together, and then cook and eat the meat – symbolizing the death of childhood innocence – before they can be considered married.
“Pointy-ears!” is an insult for lower-class elves because the “traditional elfish features” are the result of inbreeding that the higher-class avoided.
Dragonborn worship a feathered-serpent figure. In honor of this deity, Dragonborn wear feathered-headdresses (the alternating colors showing how old they are) and bone jewelry (the engravings showing an individual's noteworthy achievements).
Descending from a demonic trickster goddess, all cats are born with the ability to speak Common: they simply chose to stay silent and let chaos unfold without their meddling.
Dragons hoard personal treasures rather than monetary treasures.
Orcs are a nomadic, seafaring people who live in floating villages.
Elves are horrible tailors.
