The young Aasimar tried to be their parents, but that didn't work, so they decided that they were going to best their parents instead.
Running away form home, they became a warlock in service to a Fiend -- a Fiend they chose to work for specifically because they knew that their parents and the entity had fought before.
Also, the Fiend is basically a stereotypical grandma, "Oh, look how big you and your little friends are!" and "You single-handedly killed that Bandit Captain? That kind of behavior deserves cookies!"

This seems like a solid backstory, although aside from the patron having a grandma personality, I don't really see what's particularly funny about it.
