I need some ideas to give my character a race depending on the following traits: a very tall mosntrous woman that can change her features to look more like a human, the context of the campain is during ancient China. Her true form shows a very tall feminine figure with long limbs, her entire body, long hair and dress are black. She has two pitch black eyes and an oddly long smile with large fangs.
Firbolg can cast Disguise Self for free once a day (or with spell slots) and are naturally very tall and lanky as they're fey/half-giants. Or you could reflavor a Changeling to fit your character's needs.
Tall with long arms would make might make a Bugbear your best bet, since that could fairly easily fit that description. Number of ways to get Disguise self to hide the appearance.
If the appearance change is more important, then you might prefer Changeling.
What kind of class were you thinking? Warlock invocations can give you the mask of many faces disguise self, either from class to lvl 2 or take the feat for it. I think the firbolg or bugbear as base race with cosmetic reflavoring would both work well. I personally lean towards the bugbear but either sound plausible.

"Where words fail, swords prevail. Where blood is spilled, my cup is filled" -Cartaphilus
"I have found the answer to the meaning of life. You ask me what the answer is? You already know what the answer to life is. You fear it more than the strike of a viper, the ravages of disease, the ire of a lover. The answer is always death. But death is a gentle mistress with a sweet embrace, and you owe her a debt of restitution. Life is not a gift, it is a loan."
I'd say halforc is the way to go, and the changing her features is just changing her expression to look more human. Ie. When she's angry she looks more like an orc, but when she's calm her features smooth out to look more human. That's my suggestion, take it if you wish to.
Disguise Kit is a good way to keep your true appearance hidden from the party for a long time. Be sure to have a private tent to sleep in so you can refresh the disguise after waking up. Yaunti could tie in nicely. A fallen Aasimar could add another level of unclarity regarding the morals of the "monstrous" woman, and why she has been hiding her true appearance.
It may not be what you are looking for, but for strange features that grow or change over time, a fun addition is the 'Simian Hybrid' species. They can grow extra body parts and their body grows differently to other types as well as per your specifications. This could work particularly if you want to go down the monstrous + disguise self route.
Otherwise as stated above, a Changeling or Bugbear or Firbolg could be the closest in stature.

I think hex blood could also fit your character. If I'm not mistaken, they have disguise self.

Grung of course. The answer is always Grung.
