so I have an idea for a solo campaign I am trying to put together for my brother basic idea is for him to lead his tribe of dragonborn out from abeir onto toril, so im trying to brainstorm some ideas as to what abeir may look like as far as societies, cities the relationship between the dragons and dragonborn ect...
im thinking that although in the timeline that 5th is set in the dragonborn have been in toril for 100 years who says I cant fudge a little time play into the transference of an entire race between worlds, I mean whats 100 years between dimensions I say that because the one hook I got is to get him to need to go to the city that was ported over to toril only to discover that it is gone. anyways I guess im just looking for interesting ideas to throw in there for flavor and to help flush out the interactions along the way!
Most nations on abeir fall on the following categories:
Primordial holdouts: the fell place that are still ruled by the most powerful members of the original rulers of the planet
Draconic empires: Ruled by Dragons, on troil the reason the draconic empire fell was because of 1) the civil war between tiamat and bahamut and 2) the elves making the dracorage mythal (link). With no gods and Abeir being planarly isolated the Draconic empires are the most common type of nation.
Dragonborn free states: I would say that there would only be a few (lest then the Primordial holdouts), ruled the slaves of the dragon overlords.
Also The Aramar (at least I feel) could at like the weave somewhat so maybe have a magical artifact that can be used to manipulate the Aramar to power spells.

Hi everyone! I'm working up the will to finalize my signature, so... I guess this will be the signature for now
Present: Dragon, Dragonborn, Kobolt,(Dragonoids) Kenku, Lizardfolk, Bullywugs, Doppelgangers, Kuo-toa (nongod making) Locathah, Aarakocra, Nagas, Troglodytes, Yuan-ti (creator race descendants), Mountain Orc (Brought by the Gods to fight the Primordials), Tabaxi (native to Maztica which was once in Abeir), Human, Hobgoblins, Goblins, Bugbear, halfing( probably native but who knows), dwarves(dwarves believe that they originated from the center of the planet), Tortle (natives of chult so native to Abeir-Toril),
No existent/extremely rare: Tiefling, Genasi, Half-Elf, Elves, Aasimar, Gith, Minotaur, Fey, (Abeir is planar isolated), Gnome (Gnome came into existence around -24,500 DR), dwarves (non-dwarves believe that they are outsiders)
This is interesting. I’m currently in a homebrew campaign where I’m the only Dragonborn in the group and I’ve been working on my backstory. We also conclude that Dragonborn have only been on Toril for about 2 generations.
My DM thought it didn’t make sense that an entire landmass be transferred to Toril, so I’ve basically written that my chromatic ancestor servants on Abeir were overseeing their metallic dragonborn slaves during a mining excavation for their reigning queen dragon, Hatshepsut. During the excavation, an ancient, gold-trimmed platinum sickle was unearthed, representing a dragons talon, and lined with intricate runes and a signate.
Through further investigation, it was found that this relic was crafted for an ancient metallic dragon named Narmer who served Bahamut and which held incredible powers, acting as a sort of base for a large teleportation circle which could be traced to allow travel across vast distances, and possibly between planes. However, in order to utilize this power, it relies on life energy to transgress beyond ones own world. Perhaps a reasonable endeavor for an ancient dragon without destroying him, but for us dragonborn, it required convincing the metallic slaves to trust their cause and banding together in order to draw enough life energy for most of them to survive the trip.
Dozens of dragonborn lost their lives in order to give us a better chance at freedom, and their sacrifices were not in vain, as we now prosper and are one of the only true democratic societies in all of Faerun.

Question For classes: Would Artificer be able to cast magic. They use magic tools so maybe or would it only be if they have a primordial artifact?
