So the quarantine period gave me a lot of time to do a lot of things, namely consume media. I railed through Legend of the Galactic Heroes and finally finished War & Peace, and soon after I sent a text to three of my D&D loving pals that simply read "NAPOLEONIC SPACE DND" which left them understandably confused. After a few days and hours of work-shopping, I've finalized the setting and appendix of places. I've titled the scenario "Sea of Stars" in reference to LOGH, and it basically poses the question of: "What if the Great Powers of Napoleonic-era Europe were galaxy-spanning empires?" There are custom-ish races that take inspiration from classic fantasy and sci-fi races, and custom classes based on professions from early 19th century Europe. This is the first thread I've made and I'm not sure if this is too outlandish or far-removed from the D&D multiverse, but after listening to the end of the first arc of The Adventure Zone, I think this is fine. There are references to popular media and famous characters in order to create a more complete picture of what I mean in some places. Some events in the fictional history are based off of real-world events or historical trends (history repeats itself after all), and the names of historical royal families are used in some cases to create better analogues with the real historical nations these families ruled over.
If you have some time and this seems interesting to you, I'd love it if you guys would give it a read and let me know what you think. This is probably the most thought-out and developed setting I've ever come up with, and whilst it's derivative of a large number of things, I feel that it became unique enough to have appeal beyond my soon-to-be party of rambunctious space pyrates (if you want updates, let me know). I'm open to critique and criticism, and also compliments(?) If this breaks any rules, I apologize in advance, I was just really excited to share this with you all since the D&D community is generally super positive. Thanks for reading this far!
A first skim. Not bad! History nerds would enjoy this. I for one would love a bit more information on civilian culture. The heavy political theme sets the table for great roleplaying encounters.

Okay, it should be viewable now. I've been using google docs for like ten years now and it still manages to confuse me...
