After finish listening to the "Gates of Fire" by Steven Pressfield A story about the Spartans at Thermopile, I decided to build a spartan theme warrior. And here's the story. Uridi "Miles" life was at risk from the very moment he was born. The elders of the city took him and tested if he was fit enough for the legion. If he wasn't fit he would have been left to die. Surviving the test he was return to his mother until he was 7 years old. From then on he entered the army. Being placed into a training banner he lived, ate and slept war every moment of every day. By the age of ten he was able to read and write. By the age of twelve he knew all the legions songs and his train intensity increased. At twenty, He graduated the training and earn his full citizenship. Then came his first battle, terror blood and death was the order of the day that saw the death of the friend that gave him his nickname. Flush and grieving in after the battle came the moment that would change his life for ever. His captain and priest came for him and dragged him to the warlord and elders. There he herd the words that will ring in his head for ever. "The omens have proclaim that you Uribi of the crimson shields banner are to exiled in so doing to save the city." They striped him of his crimson clock that showed his citizenship and gave him a magical clock of white that will turn red when his exile came to its end.
Race Hobgoblin
The build is 3 levels of assassin rogue and 17 levels of battle master fighter. the feats are shield master, polearm master and sentinel.
Not a terrible story but, it needs some clarifications in my mind.
What Omens? Does the character bear a mark of a Curse? Are the Captain and Priest just blaming Uridi(or Uribi, you decide)? How does his exile save the city? What is the significance of Uridi's exile when it ends, will he be the city's savior due to some prophecy he will fulfill during his exile?
hmm, when a spartan child was born solders would come and examine the Child's strength then bathed in wine. Perhaps the first omen maybe exchange the wine with holy water that is meant to change color based on the child's fate or what they would excel at. Maybe the holy water change to a color they never saw before. or base on the Horizon Zero Dawn character Rust, perhaps the he was the last survivor of the Crimson Shields and he only survived because he was excused do to camp fever, though dnd magic might make that a hard sale. And since then he was Uridi the coward it was either exile or death in battle and after consulting with the priest he was told that only in exile was the road to honor, to find and avenge his comrades.
