I just graduated the Arcanus academy. I don't know how I arrived at the school. Only three of my class survived the final tests. For the past twenty years I have learn every form of weapon, stealth, manipulation, philosophy, strategy and martial arts. Now the academy has sold my contract for the next twenty years. To whom, I don't know. I hope they are worth serving. If I break my contract in any way the rest of the academy will end me. The academy is built on training the best spies, assassins, bodyguards and lutenists. Selling their students as the most loyal, the most skilled and the most trust worthy the academy wont let anyone violate their reputation.
the build is basically an even split of 1 monk, 1 fighter, 3 rogue. with the subclasses being open hand, battle master and assassin. My ideal play style is straight guy who keeps every body grounded. lol it will most likely be an edge lord. The character believes that ending a conflict as efferently as possible is the best. And everyone in the party has a role if they don't preform that role they are a liability.
One problem: you choose subclasses at level 3. So you need to go 3 levels in each class to be assassin/battle master/open hand. Personally, I would ditch monk, but if you didn't then shadow is so much better for an assassin build than open hand, as you already have punchy kicky.

I personally like the idea of a super technical fighter whos every move has purpose behind it. But, yes shadow would be more synergetic.
Super technical fighter you say? I think that battle master covers this so well, and a few spells is the one thing you need to round off your character. Either way, yours is the decision that matters.
