I would see if there is a lost group, a faction, school, or other kind of group from the campaign setting that you can tie your background into. The big two questions I like to think about when I pick a background is "what led me to this point and why doesn't my character keep doing that?"

Having a hard time deciding on one. What do you all think would make most sense?
The answer is: whatever you want. Questions to help:
How did they learn to be a bladesinger?
Why did they learn to be a bladesinger?
Why did they leave their life behind?
Any professions? E.g guild maker, or researcher etc.
Again, up to you. I like the idea of a hermit, who connects with nature while using bladesong. Just my thoughts.

Are you one of several martial spellcasters trained to defend your homeland? Soldier.
Did you forge your own weapon while studying magic? Guild Artisan.
Almost anything can work, really.
