I have a half vampire character who I plan on useing in a curse of Strad campaign (the race I'm using has sunlight sensitivity, and there is no sun in that setting) and my idea was to have Strad be the father, but I am fine if it's some other vampire, but I want to know if there is lore saying yes or (as I think) no.
As far as I know, there is no lore to suggest this... my best guess on the mother would be some enterprising hag who attempted to become queen of Barovia, but was eventually cast out by strahd. to make everything fair RP wise, maybe strahd has no idea he has a child.
If you have read through the Curse of Strahd, you should be aware that he has had many mistresses and consorts. Most started as females he was truly interested in initially, in a romantic way. Over time he become bored with them and would see how much he could twist them, eventually abandoning or killing most.
Names: Sasha Ivliskova, Patrina Velikovna are former wives. It's not entirely clear if Ireena Kolyana has been intimate with Strahd, it was certainly with little choice of her own, as he charmed her and bit her twice. There is also the case of the vampire spawn Helga Ruvak. Lastly, there is Gertruda. He has done nothing to here as yet but, his intentions can't be good, right? The whole story line indicates that one of the PCs could potentially be of interest to Strahd as a successor or consort. You have lots of options here.
As far as a half vampire character, I don't know if that's an actual thing in D&D. If it is in your gaming group then, I really can't see what would be hard to imagine about Strahd being father to a half vampire(providing it is possible).

Thanks for the info. I won't know untill the dm approves the character (homebrew race and subclass),and obviously I wouldn't use the character unless it was allowed.
Been a while since I ran or read it but Strahd has four consorts in game.
If DM allows the character the backstory isn't super hard. I wouldn't expect Strahd to care though. He's a narcissistic incel that only cares about himself.
Of course he would. Strahd is a scumbag. Strahd is a megalomaniacal narcissistic moral degenerate. Strahd was a piece of crap before he became a vampire and now he is a piece of crap parasite.
Alternatively, you could play Strahd as a tragic figure, lovelorn and not interested in sex with anyone except Tatyana or her reincarnation. But that wouldn’t really help the OP’s character.
I remember from the "I, Strahd" novel he actually hooks up with the mayor of the nearby town whom he has more chemistry with than he had with Tatyana. So if you want your Alucard from that bloodline you totes can!

Strahd probably hooks up on occasion. He also probably pretends they’re Tatyana, but that’s beyond the scope of this question.

Awesome! I was right 😊. I guess she was really into him.
The Hell is a half-vampire? Lol
In the book I, Strahd, he takes lovers and does not make them undead.
A dhampir. From Slavic myth. But under RAW vampires are undead and can’t have kids.
