Either from one of the published campaigns or the novels. I had one on Driz’zt when I was like fourteen lol. In game I played a priestess of Eilistraee whose goal in life was to meet Driz’zt and maybe adventure with him (she did get to meet him, but he never actually joined the party).
Larry Elmore has a definite style. I think I briefly had a crush on the girl on the front of the Star frontiers box. And I'd argue that his stuff was less cheesecake than Clyde Caldwell, or some of his other colleagues. I wouldn't say I had a crush on the woman Keith Parkinson did on the cover of Dragon #106, but I did start writing backstory for her and trying to insert her as an NPC into my campaign, such as it was back then.
I’m surprised no one’s mentioned Aleena the Cleric from the Red Box yet. Funnily enough, I always saw her as just a friend, a badass one at that, but I don’t think many people agreed.
There was this one time in high school when I stayed up late at a Catholic retreat playing pickup D&D with a bunch of people I’d just met. One of the other players and I built a little romance between our characters, and my feelings towards that player were a little...confused...the next day. I don’t remember much about the character, but I think it was a Tiefling.

Hmm... I'm not sure if this counts and it wasn't all D&D, but...
When I was fourteen and read The Lord of the Rings, I had a kind of crush on Aragorn.
Then, when I was in college, a friend invited me to a LARP and I met a guy there who played a Ranger named Strider. He was tall, dark and handsome with the most incredible blue eyes. I had a serious crush on him both as my character and IRL, but I am very shy in person, so I figured it was hopeless.
Still, we became friends and started to game together. The second or third campaign was the Thieves Campaign. We all started out at first level fleeing from a city where the thieves guild of which we were members had been destroyed. He was an elven Psionic (I have forgotten the exact class) and I was a thief. After a particularly difficult battle our characters went looking for a temple to get some healing and stumbled into one dedicated to the goddess of joy.... They woke up in the garden feeling sooo much better.
About that time my car broke down and I had no way to get to games. He offered to give me a ride and we started a weekly habit where I would make him dinner at my apartment and then he would drive us both to gaming. A broken car seems bad when you can't afford to fix it right away (I could walk or take the bus to work) but maybe not... Even after my car was fixed, we kept doing dinner and a ride. It gave us time to chat which we both really enjoyed. This went on until one night when he showed up with a white rose and said he needed to thank me. Then, he kissed me.
Now, we have been married twenty years and he is the greatest guy and best DM I have ever known.

i thought this was gay then i realized you were a girl
My elven high mage (it was a high level 3.5 campaign) from Evermeet was in a slowly blossoming relationship with Ilsevele Miritar, the current Coronal of Myth Drannor. Back when it started Ilsevele, the daughter of high priest of Corellon and member of the Evermeet Council was just a spellarcher and part of Queen Amlaruil Moonflower's royal guard. Their relationship kinda got cut short first by my character's entering the training to become a high mage (which takes decades to complete) and then Seiveril's campaign to reclaim Myth Drannor started.
And your characters got to have fun in the temple of joy 😍💦.
Indeed. I later stepped outside my comfort zone in one short campaign to make a cleric of that particular goddess.
She didn't have a crush, but was the object of one by the party's rogue. I can't recall exactly what his suggestion to her was, only that we we aboard a ship. She looked up at him all wide eyed and asked quietly, "Would it bring you Joy?" The rogue started stuttering then leapt overboard. His player explaining that 'he needed a cold shower"

Girl that is so awesome!!! Understated yet effective 😊.
Way classier and more effective than walking around in a crop top and a thong lol.

OMG that’s a scanty costume! lol Meanwhile his clothes are all baggy and shapeless.
She’s literally wearing a crop top and a thong (although at least the thong is covered up).
The silver dragon part is cool though.

Badass friends are cool too 😊
That’s one special hobbit. I can only imagine what Tolkien would think. :-)

Guys, that’s not what I meant by crushes 😊

Well I've had one or two crushes in games.

That’s awesome 😊. I totally get it.
