While discussing with a player that wants to do an in depth take on how a Kenku PC plays. Bouncing ideas off eachother we have come to the conclusion that the Kenku are meme repeaters of a sort. Things like movies quotes (or in Faerun more like plays and such) would be the bread and butter of their conversations. Pieces of phrases brought up to get to a specific idea makes for some nifty ways to play.
[REDACTED MEME]
We are running with this Kenku meme generator concept and I think it will be a lot of fun to play around with.
"Where words fail, swords prevail. Where blood is spilled, my cup is filled" -Cartaphilus
"I have found the answer to the meaning of life. You ask me what the answer is? You already know what the answer to life is. You fear it more than the strike of a viper, the ravages of disease, the ire of a lover. The answer is always death. But death is a gentle mistress with a sweet embrace, and you owe her a debt of restitution. Life is not a gift, it is a loan."
Really does not fit in an off topic location, granted I had forgotten about limitation on adding pictures and such in the normal forums, this was meant strictly as a discussion of the mimicry characteristics of Kenku that leads them to mimicking small sections of language essentially creating audio meme's of a sort.
As an example of such, most of the conversation a kenku might have with a party are all snips and bits of conversation they have heard before. From conversations they have heard near the waterside of a large city "FRESH FISH FOR SALE", or maybe dock workers "Time to hit the bars boys our work here is done". For an example you are talking about an awful smell in a dungeon that smells vaguely of fish and the kenku spits out (quietly) "Fresh fish for sale", or you finish a small event in a dungeon "Time to hit the bars boy, our work here is done".
This draws directly into the concept of memes because they are bite sized bits of culture that can get passed on. I hope that gives some clarification as to what I was hoping to discuss here in regards to Kenku lore and playstyle, and their tendency to 'meme' of a sort.

Please continue to discuss, but albeit the topic of conversation is "memes," they are still not permitted to be posted outside the Off-Topic boards.
Spamming and Trolling
Neither spamming nor trolling is acceptable on the forums. This includes, but is not limited to, the following examples:
May I suggest moving this to said Off-Topic subforum?
