Not sure if this is a thing or not, so I am going to explain the best I can:
There are people who draw characters, maps, etc for others, kind of freelance artists. I would like to do something like that but for backstories. What are the STORIES that feed into a character being who they are and why? For example: Yes, your Gnome Artificer has only one leg, and you have in mind the situation as to how that took place, but do you want to be able to sit back and read the story itself, or be able to pass the story onto others? Or do you have a castle in your world that you need a few short stories of history to go with it in order to give your players a better understanding of why this one particular room is cursed?
I am posting this here (since it would have to do with stories and lore), but I am going to also post it in the Arts and Crafts section as well.
So, here is the ask: If there are five people who have characters that they would like a fuller written out backstory for, send me a DM on here, and I will shoot you my email address. I would like to begin the process of creating some kind of portfolio for things like this and see if it can take off in some way.

There's someone who's been doing this with character background stories and seems to be getting appreciation for the quality work returned. Maybe you can PM that member on how they do it, I don't think email exchange is how it's being done.
