I play a mutagen bloodhunter in a gritty realism game. (Short rest = 8 hrs, Long rest = 1 week). Recently we have managed to get to level 4 and I am struggling to choose the right feat.
My current build is as follows:
I play a variant human with crossbow expert feat. I use a hand crossbow more often than not and have the archery fighting style. My stats are as follows: Str - 8 Dex - 17 Con - 16 Int - 14 Wis - 10 Cha - 10 I often use the celerity mutagen that allows my Dexterity to become a 20.
I have considered picking up Sharpshooter. I realise it is a pretty optimal choice. But considering we play with the gritty realism rules, we have a lot of downtime. We spend much time roleplaying, creating our own consumable items, researching the enemies we are going to face, ect. I wouldn't say we don't do combat but its significantly less part of the game than on other 5e games I have played in. Also, having only a +4 to hit while using sharpshooter feels kinda mediocre.
I was thinking of possibly picking up a feat such as Fey Touched, Artificer initiate or Magic initiate. My DM told me that because we play with the gritty realism rules, I would be allowed to cast spells that you could normally cast once per long rest, an amount of times equal to my proficiency bonus.
My question is, do you all have any good suggestions on spells that I could take? Or otherwise maybe a feat I hadn't thought of yet.
I like the blood hunter a lot, for spells I might dip 2 levels into wizard-bladesinger so you get lots of options. But if you just want some cantrips I would do magic initiate wizard, with firebolt and green flame blade and the 1st level spell shield.

I appreciate any ideas y'all can send my way.
