I’m currently working on a Dungeons & Dragons character build that focuses on using firearms, and I’d love to get some advice from the community on how to optimize it.

Here’s what I’m aiming for:

• The character will use the homebrew Gunslinger Fighter subclass (specifically interested in the Piercing Shotfeature, since it can really impact the battlefield).

• The focus is on combat effectiveness first, but I’d also like the build to remain fun and flavorful.

• The race I’m considering is Variant Human, but I’m open to suggestions if another race would work better.

• I’m open to any official classes, subclasses, feats, races, or multiclassing options that could make this work even better.

So far, I’m leaning toward starting as a Fighter with Gunslinger, but I’m not sure what feats, fighting styles, or multiclass dips would maximize its potential in combat. Are there particular combos or synergies you’d recommend for a gun-focused character? Are there any common mistakes or traps I should avoid with this kind of build?
