Hello, I am currently playing Bloodhunter sub profane soul. I'm about 9 months in and my character is currently level 8. A couple months back my DM changed some things up with the intentions of throwing bad stuff at us relatively soon. During this time we were able to rebuild our characters to be more effective and our hitpoints were changed to max roll rather than average. Anyway, during this time my dm let me change class from Warlock to Bloodhunter to try it out. After looking it over I'm not overly excited about the last few levels of Bloodhunter, but my character has been very flavor/story based so far so I don't want to multiclass just to multiclass. I intend to ask my DM if he will give me points that will adjust my alignment and I will branch into another class based on my alignment. I was wondering if anyone wanted to contribute some ideas for builds that dip out of bloodhunter and what alignment you think it would be best for.

Background: Raised as a human cultist for the yuan-ti. Cult was sacrificed to make an anathema. Escaped and made a deal with Dendar for power to seek vengeance. Has slowly turned into a yuan-ti. Drank the Bloodhunter alchemical concoction to weaken Dendar's influence, but keep strength. Currently neutral evil.
As an example, if my character ended up lawful good, I could multiclass into Paladin. I'm leaning toward 17 levels of Bloodhunter, so three levels paladin could give me smite and an additional fighting style, and I would probably take oath of vengeance to stay true to the character.
How in the world did you end up with those stats? That is some lucky rolling. You can multiclass anything you want with those.
Anyway, alignment has no bearing on what your multiclassing options are. Neutral Evil is not a good alignment to have in a typical party, though. Lawful Evil Paladin with Oath of Conquest (from XGtE) could work without a lot of tweaking, but Oath of Vengeance would also be flavourful.
Don't plan to reach level 20 - play what you want and what makes sense.
Oh, I know I can multiclass however I want, and the DM probably would be fine with whatever I do, but I want it to fit the character. The alignment idea is just a bit of fun and a way to make alignment matter a little more and ultimately determine my character's fate. That said, the DM is amping up the difficulty, so I'm hoping to have a solid multiclass build for wherever I end up.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile.

Ranger druid or cleric would be good and if you weren't a profane soul i would also recommend monk and barbarian
