Imagine a Cleric Casts the Glyph of Warding spell (at the 4th Level) and places inside it the Banishment Spell (Also the 4th level).
A creature from native to another plane of existence... such as a .... Bearded Devil walks along and pop gone forever?
Glyph of Warding states ... "If the spell requires concentration, it lasts until the end of its full duration."
Banishment states ... "If the target is native to a different plane of existence than the one you're on, the target is banished with a faint popping noise, returning to its home plane. If the spell ends before 1 minute has passed, the target reappears in the space it left or in the nearest unoccupied space if that space is occupied. Otherwise, the target doesn't return."

It sounds like a demon trap to me!
You would need to have the component aspect of something that the target of banishment dislikes.
what is this magical “catch all” things that EVERYTHING dislikes that you are using for the banishment inside the glyph of warding?
edit: there’s a reason there’s an asterisk next to the M components of the spell. And the asterisk is specifically address. A lot of players and DMs gloss over that aspect to “save time”.
Also, “evil outsiders dislike holy water” or something is perfectly acceptable. DMs that don’t belabor spell logistics aren’t somehow betraying the intent of the game, material components for basic spells don’t need to be quests unto themselves.
I’ve always wondered what would happen if you tried to banish a creature and planer binding them at the same time .... feels like it should tear them apart

A Focus easily negates the need for that, as it has no listed cost

Haven’t used this account in forever. Still a big fan of crawling claws.

I'm going to make this way harder than it needs to be.
I was planning on using Holy water as it and making the trigger as coming in contact with Fiends.... I imagine no fiend is found of holy water.
Boom. Fiends and demons taken care of. 👍

Seems legit to me
Glyph of warding + Magic circle = Non Planar creatures who are now trapped
