I'm playing a gloom stalker ranger and really love the subclass. Being invisible to creatures with darkvision is a blast! One downside is that since my party relies on darkvision and since umbral sight is a permanent condition that can't be turned off, I can't benefit from any action of my party that requires them to see me most of the time. Is there any way short of lighting a torch to temporarily disabled the invisibility to darkvision feature?
Umbral sight is incredibly powerful and I think it has to have the downside to keep it balanced. Note that you are invisible to your party if both the following apply:
You are in darkness
They are relying on dark vision
As you mentioned lighting a torch will makeo visible to your party as you are nolonger in darkness there are lots of other ways of getting out of darkness (lighting a lantern, going close enough to an item infused with the light spell to put you in dim light etc) but I guess that is not what you mean
The only other way is for the party not to rely on dark vision to see you. Devil's sight is not dark vision so a warlock with Devil's sight would be able ot see you. A party member with truesight or blindsight (either from a spell or magic item) would also be able to see you if you are within range (Jeramy Crawford confirmed this is ther caser for Blindsight).
