I been reading into the Descent Into Avernus module without trying to get anything spoiled for an upcoming campaign. But, there seems to be a general conscensus that Paladins and Clerics will have an exceptional time trying to get through the module without falling. Even getting from point A to Point B is going to be hard unless DM throws a bone.
Any advice on keeping a holy character righteous in literal hell while not stonewalling the campaign?
I don't know the specifics of the DiA campaign, but there are tools for altering alignment, such as the 1st level ceremony spell. If the issue is a gradual shift toward evil, then periodically casting it might 'reset' the clock as needed, though it's time and resource intensive.
