After a very long dry-spell of Unearthed Arcana, we finally received a new release in the form of some new Krynn-based content…among them, a new subclass for Sorcerers: the Lunar Magic subclass.
Apart from some finicky wording, I’m very much onboard with this subclass: I love the extra spells, the phase mechanics, and the subclass specific features are flavorful & fun. It’s very much a Sorcerer I can see myself playing from start to finish.
Inevitably, however, I find myself imagining the possible multi class potential of this new subclass with other classes.
Warlocks, Paladins & Bards are very common choices…but specifically, I wonder how these classes would multiclass with Lunar Sorcerers from a role playing perspective.
What Oath would they take, if multiclassing Paladin?
What Patron would they choose, for Warlock?
Would they go “dancing in the moonlight”, for Bard?
Discuss below, and share your multiclassing ideas for a Lunar Sorcerer.
The Spirits Bard I feel would be a good choice to pair with the Lunar Magic Sorcerer. I would play them as a storyteller that uses the moons powers of thinking the veil between the sport world and the mortal plane to make their ghost stories real.

I dig it. Feels like the tarroka deck of cards they use for spellcasting would fit the motif.
I don't feel Lunar is a good multiclass sorcerer the level 6 and 14 abilities are decent and reliant on the moon phase. It also isn't front loaded like some other classes so you want to get to level 9 to leverage the full spell list that it gave up other features for.
Interesting class overall though I do like it and want to try it

The level 6 ability to make Metamagic cheaper works regardless of the class the spell is from, which is extra helpful for a multiclass since you have fewer Sorc Points. And it grows based on your Prof Bonus / total level, so if you only take a small Sorc dip, you could have more "discount points" from Lunar Boons than actual points. I would take at least 1 Metamagic option that only cost 1 point, to make sure I can use the full Lunar Boon even if I'm tapped on Sorc Points.
