Like the title says, not quite sure where to have put this question, almost put this in General Discussion (since they aren't official and so don't have a thread in the class forums) but ended up putting it here.
Has anyone either played one before, or had players at the table play them before. We started a new side campaign and one of the players who chose a blood hunter feels a little underpowered to compared to the other characters (a cleric, a ranger, and a fighter). I'm of the of opinion it could just be a low level thing, since certain characters shine at early levels than others but didn't quite know if that answer "holds water" (entire team is level four as a reference).
I played one, and I thought it handled pretty well. And in hindsight, I wasn't even playing a maximized Blood Hunter (I played a strength based duelist when dexterity is far more optimal), so I wouldn't say the class held me back. Hunter's Bane isn't terribly strong if you're fighting more mundane opponents (I personally think aberrations should be included in its list of affected creatures), but I like the uniqueness of Brand of Castigation.
