To be clear, after you cast the cantrip, it disappears from the wand?
The feature never says that. The wand loses its magic when you finish a long rest, at which point you can turn it into a magic item again if you have your woodworker's tools handy.
To be clear, after you cast the cantrip, it disappears from the wand? Meaning you get one per rest? I felt the wording was a bit awkward.
Whenever you finish a long rest and your woodcarver’s tools are with you, you can touch a , wooden wand and turn it into a magic item. When you do so, you invest it with one artificer cantrip of your choice—even one you don’t know—that has a casting time of 1 action. As an action, you can cause the magic wand to produce the cantrip, using your spellcasting ability modifier (other creatures are unable to use the wand’s magic). The wand loses this magic when you finish your next long rest.
I bolded only the parts that are needed to clearly explain the ability (in regard to your question), and left anything that was unimportant or possibly confusing unbolded. But to answer your post: "No." "No." And "It isn't awkward, maybe you mis read something?"
