Hey guys I'm running a homebrew campaign and I made 2 homebrew classes, 1 of which is a warlock subclass with a heavy emphasis on Bogs and poison damage and attacks. I'm currently working on porting that into a private homebrew subclass but I can't figure out how to add constitution modifier to poison attacks in the feature thread. Any help on the topic would be helpful. Thanks
This should be in the Homebrew & House Rules forum, but the answer is you can't do this; we only have certain modifiers available and there doesn't appear to be one to do added damage for specific damage types.
Even official features like Alchemical Savant and Elemental Affinity don't do this, though thanks to some inconsistency features like Potent Spellcasting do; it's just a thing we have to put up with in homebrew for now until DDB finally overhauls it to be more flexible.
They used to keep mentioning this coming eventually in dev diaries and such, but we haven't had any of those since Wizards of the Coast bought the site, so we have no idea what's going on now.
Former D&D Beyond Customer of six years: With the axing of piecemeal purchasing, lack of meaningful development, and toxic moderation the site isn't worth paying for anymore. I remain a free user only until my groups are done migrating from DDB, and if necessary D&D, after which I'm done. There are better systems owned by better companies out there.
I have unsubscribed from all topics and will not reply to messages. My homebrew is now 100% unsupported.
