Hey I'm looking to dip into Warlock after I take my fourth Bard level and I'm looking for cool ideas for a Warlock Patron/Build. I'm the face of the group with CHA as my highest stat and would like something musical or intrigue based. I usually resort to battlefield control with illusion or enchantment spells so anything to increase his power over people. Let me know!
I agree. I think the Archfey would be the best fit based on what you've told us, both in terms of the spells they provide and story components. Personally, I'm a big fan of the 3 additional cantrips that the Pact of The Tome gives you. Best of luck!
Archfey is the obvious choice. GOO could also work well if you lean more into the intrigue side of things. Being able to speak into someone's mind surreptitiously in a crowd could really mess people over. They also get some very solid battlefield control spells added to their spell list such as Hideous Laughter, Phantasmal Force and Evard's Black Tentacles.
Ive got a bardlock who's mixed college of deviltry with fiend (asmodeous)/pact of the chain (imp). He's inspired by this guy. So far he's Warlock 5 and Bard 4. I feel like I have to just choose one direction or another at this point if I ever want to see higher level spells, but which way to go?
Its purely cosmetic instead of combat wise, but you could have an axe lute that you could summon at will if you go pact of the blade which I think is damn cool - thinking it would look like the axe bass from adventure time
I'm looking at dipping a level of bard for my 5th level warlock. The ability to get ritual casting, healing, and a bunch of inspiration dice is a good haul for a one level dip.
I've been dipping into this idea myself. Currently a 2nd level GOOlock in a party with a paladin, nature cleric, rogue, and sorcerer. Originally I was planning on going tome for the extra spells, but we're already spell heavy at this point, so I've been thinking of going chain, then picking up max 3 levels of bard(lore) for some extra spells. I feel this could work, but I'm also new to 5e, having dropped out prior to 3rd ed to Warhammer 40k through art school, so I'm still figuring out my way and not sure if this would be a broken build, though I'm really looking at RP over Min/Maxing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Back story is my character was doing odd information gathering jobs(faction agent) to earn money for bard school when he stumbled across what is now his focus and became linked to an otherworldly intelligence(ancient AI satelite, very Philip K Dick flavored), so bard fits back story, now i've got a little money, can finally go to bard school, but also busy adventuring, so can't stay focused on it.

This is my thinking as well. I wanted to add some utility to my blastlock, and one level of bard gives you quite a bit while leveraging your primary stat. It also allows me to be happy with my chainpact while not burning a feat for Ritual Caster. Don't minimize the importance of being able to heal with a bonus action, and if you have nothing else to burn a bonus action on, you have those Inspiration Dice.

The Archfey Patron is a good Illusionist/battlefield controller.
The pact of the tome allows you to pick up more spells while the pact of the chain gives you another ally that can attack.
Thep of the blade may not fit your feel as it gives you a weapon

Even going pact of the chain would work if your going archfey cause you can pick up a sprite

You could tell a pretty good story with an infernal patron, like the Devil has decided to teach the world to Rock'n'f'n'roll at last.
Or maybe you won a Charlie Daniel's fiddling contest at the crossroad. Is your viol suddenly made of gold?

That was my thinking behind this, but just wasn't sure if I'd missed anything important or overestimated something. Thank you!
What about doing a Hexblade warlock? All you need is a high charisma score, eldritch blast with invocations, and you can just dish out damage!
