Just wanted to clarify, at 20 CHA with a +5 modifier where you add the modifier to damage Hex warrior allows you to add your modifier to damage in place of Str or Dex and Life drinker allows you to add an additional? 5 (at max) damage as necro equaling +10?
Playing around with the builder only gives it a +5 when you make a weapon your Hex weapon with or without Life Drinker and uses the appropriate modifier (Str or Dex) without Hex weapon, even with pact weapon checked so it either doesn't automatically add it, unless you manually add the 5 in your head or it literally does nothing?

You're right though, taking Lifedrinker should display on the character sheet as an extra +5 (or whatever the character's charisma bonus is) necrotic damage in the notes for the Pact Weapon.

Both the Lifedrinker and Improved Pact Weapon invocations modify a weapon's stats under specific circumstances(if the weapon is specified as your Pact Weapon, does it already have a +X bonus, etc). I haven't built a Bladelock with the D&D Beyond sheet before, does it have a way for you to specify which weapon is your current Pact Weapon?

Yes, that is the most used combo for the hexblade. If you add darkness/shadow of moil + Elven accuracy, you become a meat grinder. You're almost never going to miss a hit, and you have a good critical chance. And each hit is going to do a lot of damage. Better a greatsword, by the way, than a greataxe.
The antidote to this is dispel magic, which grinds the hexblade to dust.

Lifedrinker adds necrotic damage equal to your charisma modifier to hits with your pact weapon.
If you were a hex blade with 14str (+2mod) and 18 charisma (+4) you would deal: 4 damage and 4 necrotic with your pact blade
Non hex warrior weapons used would deal: 2 damage (str)
The DnD beyond mechanism may not be showing that from what I understand of your question.

It still hasn't been addressed. Incorrectly applying damage modifiers makes D&D beyond not work well for a highly played class.
What about applying them correctly? We're talking about using the Lifedrinker Invocation as written here.

You may be able to adjust the macros for the attacks in your character sheet.

Customize the attack and add the mod number under the additional bonus. It's a 3 second fix that stays until you change it yourself

Not really. Dispel magic negates spells.
Most of the Hexblade's abilities are not spells.
Remember, D&D is a prescriptive ruleset. Spells do what they say they do. They do not do what they do not say.
Without Shadow of Moil Hexblade is no worse off than a Paladin.
