A hexblade is using their pact weapon and has "banishing smite" active. Since thecwarlock gets 2 attacks does the 5d10 force damage effect work for both attacks?
No. It only works on the next attack that hits. So if the first attack hits, you deal the additional force damage. If it misses, you don’t and the spell remains until you do connect with an attack for up to 1 minute or until concentration is broken.
"The next time you hit a creature with a weapon attack before this spell ends, your weapon crackles with force, and the attack deals an extra 5d10 force damage to the target."
The keyword here is "next". If the spell lasted for multiple attacks the text would something along the lines "until the spell ends, whenever you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack.."
