I first off want to state that I make all my characters at level 20 when I make them so I can see how I want to level them up as the campaign goes on.
I want to get the wizard expert's opinions on a wizard I made based around a 9th level spell I found called invulnerability. My plan for him was to make a boss slaying badass by casting this spell then running right up to the boss and unleash a load of AoE spells on the ground below him such as Snilloc’s Snowball Swarm, or Vitriolic Sphere. And if he somehow runs out of spell slots, he has a 20 in Strength at his later levels, allowing him to hit with his quarter staff.
What is some general things you would do/not do with this? I've never played a wizard so I'm curious. (He does have a few utility spells so he's not ALL combat)
Additional note: What would you choose for spell mastery at 18th level?
If invulnerability involves concentration, and if you're really hellbent on doing this, then take the War Caster feat for AoO spells and advantage on concentration. Actually now that i thinkabout it, that'd be a perfect fit for your character

I know what you're thinking: "In that flurry of blows, did he use all his ki points, or save one?" Well, are ya feeling lucky, punk?

No Invulnerability does not require concentration, but yes I could see the benefit of the feat. I'll think about it.
