It's what the title says, but for a longer explanation, Order of Scribes comes with the following subclass feature:
When you cast a wizard spell with a spell slot, you can temporarily replace its damage type with a type that appears in another spell in your spellbook, which magically alters the spell’s formula for this casting only. The latter spell must be of the same level as the spell slot you expend.
So, what are your best spells for each level to have in your spellbook for this versatility?
1st Level, I've got the classic Chromatic Orb for six different damage types on any 1st Level damaging spell.
2nd Level, I've got Dragon's Breath for five damage types (which I often use to alter Maximillian's "Earthen" Grasp).
3rd Level, Glyph of Warding for the same five damage types as Dragon's Breath (for when I actually wanted to cast Lightningball).
I've also got spells that deal bludgeoning or psychic damage than can further add to the list, but I'm primarily looking at hypothetical maximum efficiency here (most damage types per spells known). What are your suggestions for 4th Level+ spells with multiple damage types?
Playing one now at level 13. I will say I hadn’t realized before I started how much this feature kind of backs you into mainly being a blaster. It’s really the big subclass feature, so you want to take spells with lots of damage types, which has left me little room for utility spells when I level up. (Buying scrolls in this campaign is challenging. Not through anyone’s fault, just kind of the way things shook out.)
3rd level spirit shroud which gives you radiant and necrotic (and cold, but whatever). Radiantball got cast way more than fireball. I don’t think I’ve ever once prepared spirit shroud, just took it for the damage types.
At 5th, I’ve been getting good mileage from Bigby’s Hand, which does force damage (and bludgeoning, but, again, whatever). Only two types, yes, but force is very rarely resisted. Been really nice with synaptic static. (Also, Bigby’s is a crazy useful spell and my go-to for concentration.)

I made a Wrist Dagger, people seem to like it.
