When creating a level 9 Wizard, the wizard has 1 fifth level spell slot (which is correct), but when adding 1 level of cleric multiclass to the character, the character gets 2 fifth level spell slots. What's causing this?
That character has the spell slots of a 10th level spellcaster. See the Spellcasting section of the Multiclassing rules.
