When the wearer is the target of a magical spell, the ring has a chance to reflect the spell back to the caster.

and on a 1-3 the spell is not reflected, on a 4-7 it is bounced to the nearest creature and on a 8 you can choose where the spell is redirected.

the caster can choose when the amulet attempts to reflect the spell.
