This dark, briny potion smells faintly of seaweed and carries a strange, electric tingle on the tongue. It is brewed using powdered octopus as a critical ingredient. When you drink this potion, you immediately age by 4d12 + 10 years. This magical aging lasts for 24 hours. During this time, your Wisdom score increases by 5, and your maximum Wisdom score also increases by 5. You cannot die of old age as a result of this magical aging effect. Subtle or drastic physical changes occur as a result of the aging. Roll three times on the Aging Effects Table (d12) to determine the temporary cosmetic changes. If you roll the same effect more than once, reroll. After 24 hours, you revert to your original age and appearance, but suffer one level of exhaustion from the strain your body endured.
Ageing Effects Table (d12):
- Your hair turns completely white.
- Deep wrinkles appear across your face.
- Your posture hunches, giving you a slight stoop.
- You grow a long, wispy beard (regardless of gender).
- Liver spots appear on your hands and face.
- Your voice becomes raspy and creaky.
- Your teeth appear yellowed and crooked.
- Your hands tremble slightly when holding objects.
- You shrink by 1d4 inches in height.
- Your eyesight worsens; objects farther than 30 feet are blurry.
- You permanently smell faintly of mothballs and old parchment.
- Your eyebrows become thick and bushy.
“Growing older is inevitable. Growing up is optional.”
