This battered-looking light crossbow is covered in small swivelling gears, crude counterweights, and the bleached skull of a very angry squirrel mounted near the sights. The crossbow hums softly and occasionally twitches on its own.
You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
Auto-Aim:
As a bonus action, you can activate the auto-aim mechanism. For the next minute, your attacks with this crossbow have advantage against a creature you can see within 30 feet.
Unpredictable Targeting:
Whenever you activate the auto-aim, roll a d6 at the start of each of your turns:
-
1–2: The crossbow locks onto a random creature within 30 feet (including allies).
-
3–6: The crossbow targets your intended target normally.
Squirrel’s Curse:
If a sudden loud noise (such as the Thunderwave spell, a gunpowder explosion) occurs within 60 feet of you while attuned to the crossbow, the crossbow immediately fires a bolt at the nearest source of the noise (no action required). Make an attack roll using your normal bonuses.
Quirks:
-
Occasionally "chitters" and vibrates when nobody is holding it.
-
Must be "fed" a peanut once a week, or else the auto-aim function becomes angry (imposes disadvantage instead of advantage until fed).
Proficiency with a Heavy Crossbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Push. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can push the creature up to 10 feet straight away from yourself if it is Large or smaller.
Notes: Bonus: Magic, Damage, Combat, Ammunition, Heavy, Loading, Range, Two-Handed, Push
