What spell was it again?: Each session the DM secretly chooses a spell to be castable by the wand that session. You can expend 1 charge while not in combat to attempt to guess the spell in the wand. Choose a spell and the DM tells you cold, warm, hot, or bingo based on how similar your guess is to the spell in the wand. Spells from the wand use your spellcasting modifier.
I cast...uh...: You can speak the command words "I cast something!" and expend 1 charge in order to cast the spell in the wand. The DM tells you the targeting requirements for the spell and the spell must be cast if those requirements can be met. If the spell requires concentration you cannot willingly break concentration if you are in combat. If you are not able to cast the spell for any reason (no valid targets, spell requires action and you have no action, etc.), you only learn that the spell fails and no other other information.
