A wrist-mounted bracer fitted with gears, arc coils, and a small gemstone socket. When activated, it projects a sudden burst of force that forms a crackling energy shield.
Reactive Barrier. When you are hit by an attack, you can use your reaction to activate the bracer. You gain a +5 bonus to AC, including against the triggering attack, until the start of your next turn.
Once used, the bracer’s energy cell is depleted.
Recharge. To recharge the bracer, you must spend 1 day of downtime and embed 25 gp worth of gemstones (such as quartz, tourmaline, garnet, or lapis lazuli) into the arc housing. These gems are consumed in the process as their essence fuels the next activation.
The process requires Tinker’s Tools or Smith’s Tools, and mimics the precision work of crafting a spell scroll of Shield.
Notes: Socketed gem glows when charged, goes dark when used Recharging involves removing and embedding new polished gem chips Optional visual: tiny runes flare when active, then smoke faintly as the gem disintegrates, Warding, Wristwear
