Armor (chain mail), rare (requires attunement by a humanoid)

This armor was originally owned by a merchant capatin named Baletta Freen. Her place of birth is unknown, but she turned up one day in Calimshan, young, strong, and with enough gold to outfit a a trading caravan. She also made a point of commissioning this suit of armor. A standard suit of chainmail armor at first glance, the quality of this armor is hidden under an artful application of grime and roaddust that cannot be removed, only moved around the armor. This armor has a pouch built into the lining of the armor that appears to only hold gold coins, and acts like a bag of holding for said gold. This armor's bonus is dependent on the amount of gold held inside. Freen enjoyed a sucessful decades long career of transporting goods across all parts of Faerun before she disappeared. No one knows exactly what happened to her, but this armor was found, empty of any coin, in a cave on the side of her usual route, not 20 miles from her mansion.

This armor has less than 100gp in its pouch, and is therefore powerless. The item can be destroyed in this state.

You have a  bonus to AC while wearing this armor based on the amount of gold you have put inside of the armor:

100gp: +1

10,000gp: +2

100,000 gold +3

Made of interlocking metal rings, chain mail includes a layer of quilted fabric worn underneath the mail to prevent chafing and to cushion the impact of blows. The suit includes gauntlets.
