This elegant gauntlet-mounted arcane weapon features an elemental capacitor embedded in the forearm unit. Precision-tuned arcanomechanical foci channel power from either the user's spell reserves or an internal charge cell, allowing the wearer to unleash a tightly focused Lightning Bolt spell. The device is also known as the "Prototype V-7 Stormbrace" among artificers.
Weight: 3 lb.
Properties
Lightning Bolt. You can use an action to fire a lightning bolt from this gauntlet. The bolt forms a line 100 feet long and 5 feet wide. Each creature in that line must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC equal to your spell save DC). A creature takes 8d6 lightning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Integrated Charge Cell. The discharger comes with 3 internal charges and regains 1d3 charges daily at dawn. You can channel a spell slot into the gauntlet to recharge it (1st level spell slot = 1 charge, 3rd level spell slot = full recharge).
Overcharge Risk. If you attempt to fire the discharger with 0 charges and without expending a spell slot, the device short-circuits, dealing 2d6 lightning damage to you and becoming nonfunctional for 1 hour.
Arc Snap Mode. You can use a bonus action to activate "Arc Snap Mode" before firing the lightning bolt. This causes the bolt to curve slightly around cover, allowing you to ignore up to half cover for targeting purposes. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
